Ionic Polymer Solutions (IPS) is exploiting its patented iCON™ technology in the development of:

Ionic Liquids for:

• Electrolytes for metal deposition
• High temperature lubricants
• Replacements for environmentally damaging solvents
• Selective absorbers

Membranes for:

• Non-Hydrated fuel cells
• Divided electrochemical cells

IPS core polymer technology was originally developed as part of a UK government defence research program in the late 1990’s. It has now been recognised by the UK Department of Trade and Industry with the award of one of the largest Emerging Energy Technology Grants in 2005 to develop market-leading proton exchange membranes (PEMs) for fuels cells.
